Job description

We are seeking two self-motivated and technically oriented individuals with electrical/electronic education and/or experience for the positions of Field Service Technicians. One technician for Lazar Scientific, Inc., and one to work for our partner company PSL-Rheotek USA. Individuals must be familiar with reading circuit diagrams and various electronic troubleshooting techniques and have an aptitude for computer operations. Applicants must have excellent communication skills as they will be required to teach the operation of instruments to users. While being familiar with networks and having a chemistry background would be helpful, these skills are not a requirement. This position will be based at the home office in Granger, Indiana. Approximately 50%-60% of the time will be spent traveling. The Lazar Scientific, Inc. position’s travel will be throughout the United States. The PSL-Rheotek USA will include travel throughout North America, with occasional travel to the United Kingdom and South America. All travel expenses are covered. The individual will be responsible for installing and servicing our complete line of testing instruments that measure the physical properties of liquids. Training for the full product line will be provided.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete provided training
  • Learn about our products and service procedures.
  • Successfully execute electronic troubleshooting techniques
  • 50%-60% of the position is traveling (all expenses covered)
  • Install and service our complete line of testing instruments.
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports.
  • Train users on the proper use and operations of these instruments

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and/or other combination of technical training through the military, apprenticeship, or other equivalent training/experience
  • Self-motivated and technically oriented
  • Electrical/electronic/electromechanics education and/or experience
  • Familiarity with circuit diagrams and electronic troubleshooting techniques
  • Computer aptitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Interact with customers in a professional manner
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Ability to adapt to changing work schedules and environments
  • Pass a drug screening before employment and throughout the course of employment.
  • Portuguese or Spanish as a second language is preferred but not required only for the PSL-Rheotek USA position.
