Tribology

Tribology is the science

and engineering of interacting surfaces in relative motion and includes three key topics: friction, wear and lubrication.
Friction is the resistance to relative motion, wear is the loss of material due to that motion, and lubrication is the use of a fluid (or in some cases a solid) to minimize friction and wear.

Oils, greases or dry lubricants are used to minimize friction. Lazar Scientific offers several approaches to reliably characterize and control their quality by precisely measuring viscosity, density, the prevention of corrosion, demulsibility, testing for friction and wear and more.
