Saccharomat V Polarimeter

Saccharomat V Polarimeter

Sugar Polarimeter – Saccharimeter

With its worldwide unique quartz-wedge technology, the Saccharomat V is a fully automatically compensated sugar polarimeter. The working principle with quartz wedges is unique and unrivaled for accuracy to this day. The Saccharomat V does not need recalibration and will deliver reliable results throughout the entire product lifetime. Energy-saving LED light sources keep maintenance efforts minimal.

  • Measurement of dark samples after filtration with SCHMIDT + HAENSCH Autofilt Z® with NIR-WL
  • High resolution 7″ TFT touchscreen
  • Energy-saving LED light source

The Saccharomat is a fully automatic sugar polarimeter based on the principle of quartz wedge compensation.

Quartz has an optical rotatory dispersion almost identical to that of a sucrose solution. The Saccharomat is a fully automatic sugar polarimeter based on the principle of quartz compensation and utilizes a quartz wedge to simulate the optical rotation of the sample.

As the quartz and the sample react in the same way to small shifts in wavelength the instrument automatically compensates for these wavelength shifts giving very accurate and stable measurements without the need for regular recalibration. An additional benefit is that dark samples with a high absorption may be measured at NIR wavelength (882,6 nm) after careful filtration (see filtration unit “AutoFilt Z”) without the necessity of additional clarification.

For the measurement of Polarity and Refractive Index values at the same time, the Saccharomat can be coupled directly with the refractometer measuring head creating a Purity Analyser making this an economical solution since there is no need for the additional electronic unit of the refractometer.
