Viscol 10B Automatic Viscometer

Viscol-10B Automatic Viscometer

Asphalt/Bitumen Viscometer

Viscosity is the rate of a fluid’s internal resistance to flow. Intermolecular force, molecular mass, and temperature are the main factors that affect viscosity. Fluids that have a directly proportional flow rate with friction resistance are called Newtonian fluids. Viscosity values of Newtonian fluids are commonly determined in terms of kinematic viscosity. Using capillary (kinematic) viscometers is the best method to measure the kinematic viscosity of Newtonian fluids.

With a kinematic viscometer, viscosity is determined based on the flow time of a fluid kept at a specific temperature inside a capillary with a known diameter and length. For the kinematic viscosity measurements of Newtonian fluids, automatic viscometers provide the most reliable results with precise temperature and timing control.

The Viscol 10B is suitable for viscosity measurements of heavy samples such as asphalt, bitumen, etc., up to 170°C with its integrated and external preheating options.

The instrument handles all the operations, such as measurement, cleaning, calibration, etc., automatically.
