Intelligent Laboratory Software
SCHMIDT + HAENSCH offers the fully 21 CFR Part 11 compliant software Aquisys 3 in combination with the VariFamily instruments. The software enables you to control your polarimeters, refractometers, and density meters from anywhere. Aquisys 3 allows you to control, monitor, archive, and retrieve your measured data from anywhere. The app is fully connectable to intranet, Google Chrome, and all mobile devices.

Tubes with funnel and riser for Polarimeter and Coloromat®
- Flow-through tube with funnel and riser
- Only for Unipol, Polartronic V, Saccharomat models with plug-in connection inside of the sample compartment
Polarimeter tubes of SCHMIDT + HAENSCH are designed for different applications. All tubes meet the ICUMSA recommendations, class A (±0.01%) and the corresponding specifications of the O.I.M.L. and the Australian
Standard K 157 regarding construction and precision. In general: Longer measuring tubes are more reliable than short ones. Sample heterogeneity and residues from previous samples have a larger influence on the accuracy of the
measurement when applying shorter tubes. Larger sample volumes ensure more stability. An exception is the case of
dark samples; a shorter measuring tube might be necessary due to the high absorption of light.

Calibration for Polarimeters
Quartz control plates are used as measuring standards, to test and calibrate polarimeters.
The surface of the thin quartz plates are polished with highest precision. For reasons of mechanical stability, plates with a low angle of rotation (between -24 °Z and +24 °Z) are produced as double quartz plates (combination of a dextro and a levorotatory plate).
For each SCHMIDT + HAENSCH quartz control plate a factory certificate is supplied, indicating the absolute angle of rotation in degrees (°) and wavelength, i.e. 405, 546, 587, 589.3, 589.44, 633 and 882 nm.
The angle of rotation of the quartz plate is directly correlated to its thickness and will be indicated at a temperature of 20 °C for the wavelength 589 nm.

Polarimeter tubes
Our polarimeter tubes with integrated Peltier-elements are controlled by a separate, user-friendly electronic unit which has its own power supply.
Temperatures are set directly via the polarimeter in special software menu.
Even though the reference temperature for polarimetric measurement is 20 °C or 25 °C SCHMIDT+HAENSCH ’s T-cells can quickly heat and cool samples over a wider range (18 °C to 40 °C) for special applications. This versatility enables an analysis of temperature dependencies for individual substances.
