The PT programs are operated in general accordance with the principles of ISO 17043.
What is a Proficiency Testing
Proficiency Testing Schemes, also known as Inter-laboratory Comparisons, Round Robin Studies, Cross Check Programs, or Inter-laboratory Studies, provide a means of evaluating a laboratory’s performance for specific tests. They are also a reliable tool for measuring and monitoring a laboratory’s continuous performance.
Benefits of Proficiency Testing
Proficiency Testing (PT) programs are invaluable Quality Assurance tools delivering reliable information that allows participants to:
- Evaluate the laboratory’s performance for specific tests and measurements and monitor
on-going performance - Identify problems in laboratories and initiate actions for improvement which, for example, may be related to inadequate test or measurement procedures, staff training and supervision or calibration of laboratory test equipment.
- Establish the effectiveness and comparability of test or measurement methods.
- Provide additional confidence to laboratory customers
- Identify inter-laboratory differences
- Validate uncertainty claims
- Receive comparative data from all participants in the Proficiency Testing Program.
Proficiency Testing Schedule
The Proficiency Testing programs will be executed annually and will provide participants with a straightforward process to electronically submit measurement results.
The measurement samples and reports are complementary to our customers and subscribing participants. Simply order a reference material to become a customer. Non-customers will be assessed a nominal fee for shipping.
